Jon Hamm, Olivia Wilde, and Nina Arianda deserve mention, too, for their excellent characterizations. The direction is taut, crisp, and engaging and the story unfolds with wonder and precision. Some national critics are hung up on trying to politicize Eastwood's motives - but this is simply an American story that reveals the worst of our media and government. If it could happen to Richard Jewell, it could happen to you or your child. Kudos all around for this production. Like "Once Upon a Time In Hollywood. To be honest I wasn't even going to write a review in this. It's been well over a week and I've been so busy with everything that I had no time. I skipped writing a a review for the miniseries Mrs. Fletcher (which is good; B+ and just writing shorter reviews lately. This one will be short again since I don't remember everything super clear. It's not that I didn't like this, but I just haven't had the time. I actually found myself liking this movie a little more than I expected. Watching the trailer I had hardly any interest in seeing this to be honest. Clint Eastwood starred and directed The Mule last year and I think he's a good director and actor. Everyone freaked out when he said he was done acting and basically everyone saw The Mule, at least in my town. I liked it when I saw it but I've grown to have less of an interest in it as time went by. That's what I thought Richard Jewell would be like. Sure, there's the chance that I won't want to rewatch it as much as I visit movies again as frequent as I do, but I liked it more than The Mule. The direction was all there and good from Eastwood. I wouldn't say he did anything spectacular with directing but he never seems to make a bad movie. Where Richard Jewell shines is with Paul Walter Hauser as Richard Jewell. I'm just always surprised with his work. He was in I, Tonya and I loved him, then BlacKkKlansman, followed by the under appreciated movie Late Night, and now this. Hauser has become one of the best actors right now it seems, yet no one really knows about him. This is his best performance and I'd love to see him in more leading roles. The other performance I really liked was Sam Rockwell. He's another actor that's just great with every role he's given. Playing Watson Bryant won't be a role he'll be well known for in the future but I thought he did such a fine job. Kathy Bates just recently got the Golden Globe nomination for best supporting actress for this movie and I love her work. I'm just very surprised she received a nomination. She did very well like always but there isn't a scene that sticks out from other supporting actress this year with great performances. Kathy isn't bad by all means, I just think maybe someone else could've gotten the nomination. Overall really nice acting. The movie follows the same sort of typical biopic hero setup as some others with the tones and conflicts lining up in certain spots. It's a good story. Only a few times did it actually drag just a little. It's over two hours and some of it could've been taken out. The very beginning felt a little awkward to me because it took place a few years before the main story just to show where he worked up from. Maybe they could've taken that bit out and just talked about it in another spot. Those were my only main issues with this movie. I'm very surprised at how much it under performed at the box office, especially for a Clint Eastwood movie. I'd suggest seeing Richard Jewell. It's a good movie with great performances.
My Grade: B.

This is sad as it gets, a true hero maligned by the media and he died too young, at 44 christ. This movie literally grabbed me and pulled me in. The lead actor was hands down amazing and I hope he gets nominated for an Oscar. I love hearing Adam laughing. Bomb the Fed. No Good Deed Goes Unpunished and this is a Perfect Example. Great movie. However, this was a solid story, superbly acted (acting by Hauser, Bates and Rockwell was the best aspect of the film) well-shot and well-made by Mr Eastwood.

But when Jewell's name leaked out as the prime suspect in the deadly blast, his face and name became famous for all the wrong reasons. Though police never arrested Jewell and ultimately dropped the investigation, and the actual bomber was eventually found, his lawyer and friend Watson Bryant says many people still think Jewell  "had something nefarious to do with the bombing. It's just ignorance. He absolutely did not. The years pass. All you remember is the news avalanche and this idea that this guy had something to do with it. says Bryant, who served as a consultant on the film and is played by Sam Rockwell. The movie, which traces Jewell's journey from hero to suspect to vindication, is billed as "based on a true story. Here's what's fact or fiction in "Richard Jewell. "  Why did Jewell's past spark suspicion? Jewell is depicted as an eager-to-please mailroom clerk in Bryant's law office who reads dry penal codes in his free time.  The movie shows real warts from Jewell's failed attempts at a career in law enforcement. For example, he was let go from a security officer job at Georgia's Piedmont College for his overzealous tactics, which included raiding dorm rooms for student drinking violations.  "If you think that if a cop is overzealous, thats evidence of him being a bomber, well, I sure as hell dont. Bryant says. Gun-loving Jewell, 33, is shown living with his mother Bobi (Kathy Bates) who is recovering from surgery at the time of the bombing.   He seemingly fit the profile of a lone wolf seeking to grab 15 minutes of fame, but he was the antithesis of a bomber. And anyone who knew Richard knew that. says Bryant. How did the hero become the suspect? Jewell spotted the abandoned olive-green backpack containing pipe bombs under a park bench. When it became clear it was a legitimate threat, he helped move 75 to 100 bystanders away. (The scenes were shot in Centennial Park on the 23rd anniversary of the fatal bombing.   Immediately hailed a national hero, Jewell initially reached out to Bryant to help him with the paperwork on a proposed book deal. But that scenario flipped dramatically as law enforcement eyed Jewell as the primary suspect, leaked their investigation to the media, and the news frenzy began. Bryant stepped in as his lawyer, convinced of his friend's innocence. "It was so incredulous when I saw the Atlanta Journal-Constitution famous headline, FBI suspects hero guard may have planted bomb. says Bryant. "I couldnt believe it. Olivia Wilde portrays real-life Atlanta Journal-Constitution reporter Kathy Scruggs, who wrote the story (with Ron Martz)  citing Jewell as a suspect. Scruggs is depicted meeting an FBI agent (a composite character played by Jon Hamm) at a bar and is shown running her hand up his leg. He reveals the identity of the fed's suspect and the two leave the bar together. The portrayal has roiled critics, including the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, which says Scruggs is inaccurately portrayed as exchanging sex for information. Lawyer Marty Singer sent a letter to Warner Bros. and Eastwood on the news outlet's behalf that says the respected reporter is "reduced to a sex-trading object in the film. The letter demanded the filmmakers issue a "statement publicly acknowledging that some events were imagined for dramatic purposes and artistic license" and add a disclaimer to the movie. He was strongly interested in her even when he was engaged lol. Each relationship each person is different. I think what makes this movie so special is that everyone can relate to this story. It tells that classic story of long time friends who cant seem to accept each other with other people but don't have the guts to make a move on each other. You can tell from the first scene that Harry and Sally both feel some romantic tension between them. Obviously at first they each want different things with a partner. This is shown by their disagreement with the end of Casablanca. I thought that was a clever way of setting up the ending. Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan have great chemistry throughout. Which is especially impressive because of how many different meetings they have together. Whats a good romance without a few tear jerker moments? Well this movie definitely has a few, as it most likely one of the top love stories in cinematic history.
I really liked that they had their friends set up, and then ended up helping get them married. To me that shows the hope for Harry and Sally in the second half of the movie. For some reason Harry and Sally cant accept being together, even though in the first scene Harry states that men and women can never be friends. Rob Reiner directs each character with flaws so that we aren't finding ourselves only rooting for one side. They try to date other people but you can tell that each time, tension rises and all result in break ups.
I think my only complaint for the movie would be that it seems like in movies when a fallout in a relationship happens, its always the man who gives in and ends up trying to resolve the situation. They portray the women to be the stubborn ones and wait until the man calls her. Even if thats what happens I would like to see a refreshing take on that. But in a romantic movie you want the ending to be emotionally moving, and this one delivers. Their final scene together is heartwarming and overall pleasing. You really feel you went on this ride with this couple for a few hours so when you get an ending that hits, its extra satisfying.

While most of the movie feels much like a repeat performance, the addition of DeVito and Glover add enough to make the move fresh and entertaining. The offensive language is found through much of the movie, and there is no shortage of Gods name being used in vain. For this reason, I cant recommend this as a family-friendly movie. I can say it was entertaining enough to keep me interested and laughing through the film. The story picks up a few years later from where “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” left off. The main characters have moved on from high school on their separate paths and have a meetup planned for their break home from college. When Spencer doesnt show up, the rest go looking for their friend. Soon we find the four friends back into the game to rescue their friend along with DeVito and Glover. The game rules remain the same with each character within the game getting only 3 lives. Dangers abound and everyone loses at least one life on their journey. Once again, the characters have to save Jumanji to be freed from the game. The main antagonist this time is the the evil Jurgan The Brutal. Plenty of excitement fills the storyline from new weaknesses for the characters as well as stampeding ostrich herds and other creatures who cause great peril for the players. The film is well acted, directed, and the pace kept me in the movie through the entire running time. This film lives up to the hype trailer. It sticks to the same basic formula but this gives the viewers a fun ride through the adventure of getting sucked into a video game. I would have liked it more had they avoided the unnecessary use of profanity. Most Christians will not want to be subjected to the added GDs which were not in the last film. The objectionable content ranges from a handful of profanities to implied adultery of the game characters. Gods name is misused numerous times, 22 misuses of the word “H*ll”, 3 “d*mn”, and 1 “go scr*w yourself. ” Characters also reference their testicles and breasts. And there is one implied reference to the size of someones penis, but they cut before you hear it. Other language is listed below. I do wish Hollywood directors like Kasdan would keep so much objectionable material out of anything remotely billed as a family movie. This makes it very unwise to bring kids to what could otherwise be an enjoyable movie. Given the directors previous raunchy movies, perhaps it makes sense that the family genre was a bit of a stretch. Jake previously directed movies such as “Sex Tape, ” “ Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, ” and “ Bad Teacher ”—all highly offensive. A few positive themes are exhibited among the characters. These come from the value of life made in the image of God. “And God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him. The film basically picks up after the events of the first & once again the 4 friends & a few family members get thrust back into the game. There entails more adventures of action packed thrills galore!
I found the film to be pretty good, not as good as the first, but it was alright. It wasn't PC or Propaganda originated that's for sure. But saying that I did pick up on at least 2 things which may have been a little PC or Propaganda, but I don't know for sure. br> Overall a great action packed film with epic visuals. Plenty of eye-candy for us guys, Karen Gillian especially! Even that scene in which the characters swap bodies. you'll know what I mean when you watch!

Aktuálne do kín prichádza v poradí tretie pokračovanie a my sme sa boli pozrieť, čo tvorcovia so svetom Jumanji vymysleli tentokrát. Od stolnej hry ku konzole V roku 1995 prišiel do kín film Joeho Johnstona na motívy knihy Chrisa Van Allsburga. Príbeh o magickej spoločenskej hre sa stal kultovým, i keď po jeho pokračovaní veľký dopyt nebol. O to príjemnejším prekvapením bolo, že ďalšia časť z roku 2017 Jumanji: Vitajte v džungli nebola znásilnením pôvodnej myšlienky, ale sympatickým prispôsobením pôvodného konceptu súčasnému divákovi. Jumanji už nebolo stolnou hrou, ale retro hernou konzolou a kulisy zo sveta Jumanji sa tentokrát nepresunuli do skutočného sveta, ale hráči sa naopak premiestnili do sveta Jumanji. Tým vznikol priestor pre zaujímavý koncept, ktorý sa stal jedným z hlavných prvkov druhého, ale i tretieho filmu: hráči si pri vstupe do sveta Jumanji mohli vybrať, za akú postavu budú hrať. To následne viedlo k zaujímavým kontrastom. Bojazlivý nerd Spencer sa ocitol v koži svalovca, ktorého hrá Dwayne Johnson. Stredoškolský športovec Fridge bol odrazu zoológ, roztlieskavačka a instagramerka Bethany sa stala navigátorom a zo samotárskej dievčiny Marthy bola agilná bojovníčka. fotogaléria Dwayne Johnson sa naposledy musel vcítiť do kože nesmelého stredoškoláka. Tentokrát pre zmenu stvárňuje sebavedomého dôchodcu. Darí sa mu to a jeho grimasy i gestá patria ku skvelým prvkom vo filme. Je preto pochopiteľné, že tretie pokračovanie s názvom Jumanji: Ďalší level na tento osvedčený princíp nadväzuje a rozvíja ho ďalej. Nová snímka postavy zamiešava ešte viac. Spencer sa stratil v Jumanji, ostatní sa preto vydávajú za ním, avšak v pozmenenej zostave. Pokým Martha hrá opäť za rovnakú postavu, navigátor je tentokrát Fridge, v koži Dwayna Johnsona je Spencerov starý otec (Danny DeVito) a zoológom sa stal jeho bývalý obchodný spoločník Milo (Danny Glover. Zaradenie dvoch dôchodcov do tímu pochopiteľne vedie k rôznym komickým situáciám, s ktorými si herci i režisér dobre poradili. Najnovšie Jumanji je tak ešte vtipnejšie ako jeho predchodca. Moralizovanie nepomohlo Trochu absurdne pôsobia akurát viaceré scény na konci, v ktorých sa film snaží o akési morálne posolstvo. Spencerov starý otec musí napraviť svoj negatívny pohľad na život, vyrieši spor so svojím niekdajším spoločníkom Milom a zlepšiť vzťah so svojím vnukom. Pokým sa predošlé Jumanji odohrávalo hlavne v pralese, väčšina tretieho pokračovania je situovaná na púšti a v zasneženej krajine. Chápeme, že toto je pre šablónový vianočný rodinný film – akým Jumanji: Ďalší level bezpochyby je – povinná jazda. Autori si však mohli dať viac záležať na tom, aby takéto moralizovanie bolo aspoň o niečo menej nevtieravé. Výsledok totiž pôsobí prinajmenšom otravne. Dobrou správou je, že týchto scén je len niekoľko a objavujú sa iba v úplnom závere. Tieto „morálne posolstvá“ sú také nevydarené aj preto, že film, rovnako, ako jeho predchodca, venuje absolútne minimum času spoznávaniu postáv a ich problémov. Z náznakov pochopíme, o aké povahové typy asi ide a s čím v živote zápasia, no tam to končí a zvyšok snímky je iba zdolávaním nástrah sveta Jumanji. Divák si preto k postavám nevytvorí vôbec žiadny vzťah, a tak je pochopiteľné, že ho nijako nezaujme, keď na konci svoje osobné problémy vyriešia. Jumanji: Ďalší level je ideálny film pre situácie, kedy sa potrebujete na dve hodiny zabaviť, no nechce sa vám veľmi premýšľať. Prijateľná oddychovka Film síce okrem ďalších zámen postáv a nových kulís (okrem džungle diváci uvidia aj púšť a zimnú krajinu) neprináša nič nové, na oddychový prázdninový film to ale celkom stačí. Ak cez vianočné sviatky dostanete chuť ísť na rodinný film, Jumanji: Ďalší level vás nesklame. Ak však už máte lepšie plány, kvôli novému Jumanji ich meniť nemusíte. Živé je mediálnym partnerom filmu.
